How to maintain your dirt bike

Looking after your dirt bike has never been so critical.

Gone are the days of pulling out that old Honda XR250 and having it start on the second kick after 5 years of no use. Not only has fuel quality become poor, the more current your bike is the harder it is to maintain and let sit unused for a period of time.

Since 1998 when Yamaha first brought out their YZ400 that everyone wrote home about, offroad manufactuers have been having a technical war. From batteries that go flat, carburettors that clog up, injectors that get stuck, to adjusting valve clearances every 15 hours, not to mention engines that rev harder and hold less oil.

Selecting the right products such as oil, tyres, chains and engine components is the key to a well running bike. Being well researched on your model is so important.
