BMW S1000RR & S1000R

Whether your looking for a dedicated track bike or a spirted ride through the mountains, BMW have you covered with the S1000RR and R .

BMW have refined and redesigned their S1000RR for 2024

Focusing on an increase in performance and track orientation, pairing with some  previously limited performance M series components and rider aids.

The S1000RR features a lightweight aluminum chassis with a swingarm made of forged aluminum. The bike has a seat height of 850mm, and a dry weight of 201kg.

We at Platinum Motorcycles Melbourne love having these bikes in our workshop.

Some of the many things we offer for these models are:

  • General Service / log book service
  • Major service / Valve Clearances
  • Custom Dyno ECU Tuning
  • Tyre fitting and sales
  • Suspension services and set ups (including Ohlins)
  • Electrical fault finding
  • Track conversion and set up

We find that these bikes are extremely harsh on the rear and more often than not over sprung for the average rider. But don't stress with the correct set up from our Platinum technicians. You will find the ride more comfortable and more responsive through the twisties .

Tuning :   in our experience of these bikes we find that the stock tune is a common story with the majority of modern road bikes. As emission controls are getting tighter throughout the world. This is greatly impacting fuel maps that manufacturers are legally allowed to run. With such tight regulations manufactures are running their bikes excessively lean at idle and low to mid range. Causing snatchy throttles , excessive heat and power loss.   Our custom tunes will get your bike running more efficiently, improved power response, smooth throttle and running cooler in those hot summer days.

BMW recommends a General service every 10K and a Major every 30k.

We find that for most road use these services are too far apart. And can lead to unwanted and expensive maintenance in the future. Usually after the warranty period has just ended. Here at Platinum Motorcycles we highly recommend a General service every 5k or every year whichever comes first.
