YAMAHA R7 PERFORMANCE PACKAGES AND SERVICING
The all new R7 (YZF660/ 690) for 2022 is a great addition to Yamaha's already outstanding motorcycle range. This bike comes in a LAMS model and a high output model. Although the engine is very similar to the MT07 its chassis and styling is new and sleek, Yamaha has done a fantastic job.
The R7 has a lot of potential as a road and race track bike. When testing this bike we have found the suspension to be quite soft when braking hard and reaching full throttle the rear tends to squat. The Platinum team has done some dyno testing and we feel there is room for improvements in the way of fueling and ignition timing - which is all achievable through our ECU flash tuning services.

Suspension Packages
BASIC SET UP
- Using the existing factory components, better quality fork oil at a modified level focusing on the casual road rider that weighs 60-85kg.

STAGE 1 SUSPENSION SETUP
- Focusing on the fast road rider and set up for your weight
- This package will get you stable and stops the front forks from diving and the rear from wallowing and having better grip
- It includes springs, valving components, oil, seals and a set up
STAGE 2 SUSPENSION SET UP
- Focusing on the track day rider
- This includes front drop in cartridges and a performance rear shock
- All adjustable and race ready
Service Packages
GENERAL SERVICE/ ANNUAL
- The R7 is due for a general service every 10,000km or annually. At Platinum Motorcycles we recommend every 5,000km or annually (whichever comes first) to ensure cost effective care.
20,000KM SERVICE
- General service along with replacement of brake fluids, coolant and spark plugs.
- These fluids are required to be replaced every 2 years as a rule of thumb, or if needed earlier.
